Choreography in an epoch of movement is an umbrella term for contextual framing, events and the multimedia exhibition that was presented in the frame of CoFestival. The title relates to the thesis of the historian and contemporary dance theoretician André Lepecki, according to whom the birth of contemporary dance at the beginning of the 20th century is linked to kinetic obsessions of the modern era and its materialisations in the culture of (artistic, scientific, social and political) movements. As this is the epoch of movement, immobility that is realised in various ways, created or embodied, is also inscribed in it as a certain productive or relative negation. The curating work was based on historical and theoretical references from the field of contemporary dance, visual arts and performances, with the aim of seeking the theme with relevant (historical and theoretical) topical frameworks and original considerations, and hint at their potentials.
